OAM | Workplace Men's health | Mental Health
I work with organisations to identify and manage psychosocial risks, strengthen leadership capability, and improve how work is designed and experienced by people. This includes a gender-responsive lens, particularly in high-risk, mostly male environments, where traditional approaches don’t always reflect how people actually experience work.

Rae Bonney OAM is an Australian psychosocial safety and workplace mental health specialist, qualified counsellor, and men’s health advocate with a deep commitment to creating environments that support psychological safety, health and wellbeing.
I work with individuals and organisations to identify psychological and psychosocial risks, strengthening the systems, leadership and environments that support people -not just on paper, but in practice.

Primarily those working in high-risk, heavy industry, mostly male environments — where psychosocial hazards and the interaction between work and life impact health, safety, wellbeing.
I support:
I meet people where they are – working alongside them to create change that is practical, relevant and grounded in the realities of their life and work.
Practical, people-centred, systems-led work grounded in real-world evidence across individuals, teams and organisations in complex, high-pressure environments.
Works with organisations to identify and manage psychosocial risks — strengthening leadership, systems and environments so they genuinely support people in practice, informed by clinical, professional and practical experience.
Provides confidential support in crisis situations — working with individuals and teams to process what’s happening, work through the impact and navigate what comes next.
Focuses on developing male-friendly approaches – shaping policy, strategy and support that genuinely reach men and continue to evolve across different settings.
Provides confidential counselling for individuals, couples and groups. A real, grounded approach focused on helping people make sense of what’s going on, build awareness and take ownership of what comes next.
Contributes to national and global policy, strategy and advocacy – bridging the gap between policy intent and how systems are experienced in practice.
Includes ongoing work connecting research, policy and practice to improve outcomes for men and boys worldwide.
Relevant, engaging sessions on mental health, psychosocial safety, men’s health, leadership and culture – delivered in person or virtually, anywhere in the world.
My work is grounded in a set of simple but powerful principles.
They help people better understand themselves, each other, and what’s really going on beneath the surface.

Not all resources are created equal. This is where I share the tools, programs, and ideas I genuinely rate, because they’re practical, thoughtful, and actually make a difference.
I update this regularly, so check back for what’s worth your time.

A great example of a male-friendly space — built around books, but really about connection, conversation and something easy to walk into. Check out the tough guy book club website here ↗️
What does it feel like, being you, today? is my monthly radio show and podcast, creating space for honest, thoughtful conversations about men’s and boys’ mental health.
Through gentle reflection and lived experience, the show explores what it means to be human — with care, dignity, and deep respect for every story shared.

Organisations I’ve been privileged to work alongside in mental health, safety and wellbeing.
